About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Laredo Sector, in the following locations: Laredo, TX Hebbronville, TX Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • In this position, you will perform a variety of administrative, research, and analytical duties and special assignments in support of Mission Readiness Operations (MRO).
  • This work directly enhances the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of sector- and USBP-wide program operations and administrative workflows, helping ensure mission and personnel requirements are met across the organization.
  • This position starts at a salary of $52,413.00 (GS-7, Step 1) to $83,349.00 (GS-9, Step 10).
  • As a Mission Support Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of administrative, logistical, and analytical mission support functions for a U.S.
  • Border Patrol sector.
  • Typical duties will include: Providing administrative support and guidance on budget, inventory, property, fleet, workforce management, workers' compensation, payroll, and travel, including coordinating office workflows and developing tracking and filing systems.
  • Researching and analyzing internal administrative policies, projects, and management processes.
  • Preparing reports and data analyses and assisting in developing briefings, project papers, status reports, and correspondence for management.
  • Managing property and personnel support functions by assisting with physical inventories and reconciliations, processing credentials and badges, certifying time and attendance, preparing workers' compensation claims, and reviewing bills and required forms for accuracy.
  • Administering procurement and fuel management activities by researching suppliers, preparing and reconciling purchase card transactions, scheduling bulk fuel deliveries, and ensuring accurate and timely payment and documentation.

Requirements
