About the Position: This position is a Medical Records Technician position located at Keller Army Community Hospital, West Point, New York. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Track and monitor medical records performance improvement processes using established measurement systems.
- →Establish and maintain systems for collecting, recording, and reporting medical data.
- →Retrieve and review medical records using medical terminology and ICD codes.
- →Maintain automated tracking logs for all transactions.
- →Maintain incident reporting systems and clinical event systems.
- →Maintain electronic and paper files.
- →Ensure reporting systems support the flow of forms and documents across nursing, ambulatory care, and safety offices.
- →Receive patients being admitted to the medical treatment facility.
- →Check patient's eligibility for care and determines proper classification of patient seeking treatment and/or being admitted.
- →Track all Release of Information (ROI) as required using software such as the Protected Health Information Management Tool (PHIMT).
