About the Position: This position is located at 2nd Medical Group Clinic Barksdale AFB, Louisiana.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as a Medical Records Technician within the Correspondence Section to process requests for patient medical information from patients, their authorized representative, and other third parties.
- →Maintain control logs for tracking status of requests and other pertinent information.
- →Research medical record system to include, but not limited to outpatient, mental health, social work services, family advocacy program, radiology, and pathology records for specific medical information.
- →Prepare response to inquiry and ensures only relevant factual information is released.
- →Communicate both orally and in writing in order to elicit information from patients.
- →Operate various office machines such as a facsimile (FAX), copier, and computer terminal in order to reproduce, transmit, obtain and produce materials in the proper format.
- →Protect confidential patient medical information in order to protect the patients right to privacy about medical conditions.
