About the Position: This position is located a Fort Riley, Kansas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Establish and maintain custody of service treatment and outpatient medical records according to regulatory guidelines and local policies.
- →Provide information and answers a wide variety of technical questions about medical records without compromising confidentiality of the patients.
- →Retrieve individual medical records from the terminal digit system for scheduled appointments, walk-in patients, and clinic personnel who need records for unscheduled and urgent appointments.
- →Use the Medical Record Tracking function for scanning records to the patients, appropriate clinics or back to the records room for a more effective retrieval system.
- →Receive request for copies of medical records for patients, other Medical Treatment Facilities and insurance companies.
- →Answer phone calls from staff, patients and/or public and greets visitors.
- →Compose and type correspondence including letters of transmittal, requests for medical records, letters furnishing medical information, and other correspondence concerning the disposition of patients and their medical records.
