About the Position: Serves as a Medical Records Technician and receptionist/release of information clerk of the Data Flow Branch, Medical Information Services Division, Patient Administration, and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Assurance of the acquisition of complete medical information for each discharged/death patient cared for by this medical treatment facility.
- →Review patient information on documents to prevent incomplete/inaccurate data.
- →Ensure proper sequence of documents, presence of proper reports, all required signatures, and inclusion of sufficient data to document diagnosis, treatment rendered, results obtained and quality patient care.
- →Maintain a list of overdue charts on a weekly basis.
- →Retrieve inpatient records from the medical record archive system for healthcare professionals to complete deficiencies and for technicians to process coding requirements.
