About the Position: The incumbent functions as the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) coordinator and health information expert for all electronic health records, databases, and reporting systems used to conduct medical coding, auditing, and data extraction. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
What You'll Do
- →Establish and monitor an efficient medical record system.
- →Oversee the medical record verification and retirement process for inpatient, outpatient, and dental records.
- →Manage the medical records section, including the coding of inpatient and Ambulatory Procedure Visits (APV).
- →Review and verify component parts of outpatient records to ensure completeness and accuracy of diagnoses.
- →Serve as the primary subject matter expert for MHS GENESIS (Military Health System) data workflows.
- →Educate the medical staff on proper documentation of clinical records.
- →Serve as a key advisor to medical staff, management, and all hospital departments regarding medical record maintenance, The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and medical-legal requirements.
- →Directly supervise a minimal staff that includes Medical Records Technicians and hospital corpsmen assigned to outpatient records.
