About the Position: This position is located in Bassett Army Community Hospital at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.
What You'll Do
- →Independently perform a wide variety of complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury.
- →Utilize diagnostic two-dimensional imaging, spectral Doppler analysis, color and power Doppler, angio techniques, and real-time ultrasound imaging.
- →Responsible for identifying abnormalities within the body and providing accurate ultrasound imaging documentation as medical proof of abnormal findings.
- →Analyze sonographic findings to distinguish between normal and pathological conditions.
- →Assist radiologists and medical officers with complex or invasive diagnostic procedures, including needle biopsies, aspirations, sonohysterograms, and renal biopsy guidance.
- →Identify critical or unexpected findings requiring immediate physician notification and recognizes situations that require direct, real-time observation of the examination by the radiologist or obstetrician facilitating physician.
