This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Mechanical Engineer for the Engineering Division in the Directorate of Public Works Natick.
What You'll Do
- →Develop the designs, plans, cost estimates, and specifications for piping, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, automatic control, utility, and other systems of major size and complexity for use in such facilities.
- →Evaluate design objectives, performs highly complex technical calculations, identifies most economical and efficient procedures for project design.
- →Prepare detailed cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding and bid evaluation.
- →Review and evaluate shop drawings, samples, and material certifications submitted by contractor for contract and performance requirements, recommending approval, rejection, or receipt.
- →Review the work of architect-engineer firms to ensure design excellence and that requirements are met.
