What You'll Do
- →Serves as the Associate Deputy Director, Marine Corps Total Fitness (MCTF) Directorate, Marine and Family Programs Division (MF), Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Headquarters, United States Marine Corps (HQMC).
- →The incumbent serves as the MCTF Deputy Director¿s full-time civilian counterpart and second-in-command, providing the continuity, technical program expertise, and day-to-day operational execution the scope of the portfolio requires.
- →The incumbent independently manages the MCTF portfolio, ensures integration and consistency of policy and execution across all assigned branches, and directly supervises the civilian branch heads for Combat Power Preservation, Outreach and Support, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR), and Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR)/Semper Fit.
- →In the Deputy Director¿s absence, the incumbent acts with full authority for the MCTF portfolio, representing the Directorate in Headquarters-level working groups, budget reviews, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- →Serves as the single point of accountability for integration across the MCTF portfolio, ensuring Combat Power Preservation, Outreach and Support, SAPR, and WARR/Semper Fit function as a unified prevention and readiness capability rather than as independent programs.
- →Directs or Leads Operational Planning Teams (OPTs) addressing structural, policy, and governance questions affecting the portfolio.
- →Advises the Deputy Director, MCTF on the operational and administrative status of all branches, briefing risks, shortfalls, and resourcing needs in time to support decision-making.
- →Represents MCTF at Department of War and Service-level meetings, working groups, and boards when the Deputy Director is unavailable, articulating the Directorate¿s position and negotiating solutions that align with strategic objectives.
- →Coordinates with other MF divisions, M&RA staff, and external stakeholders, including Navy and Department of War counterparts, on matters affecting the MCTF portfolio.
- →Drafts and reviews policy, decision briefs, and correspondence on behalf of the Deputy Director on portfolio-wide issues, ensuring alignment with current governing directives and pending policy revisions.
- →Exercises full supervisory authority over the civilian branch heads within MCTF.
- →Assigns, plans, and reviews the work of subordinate branch heads, setting priorities and deadlines consistent with MCTF and Division objectives.
- →Evaluates the performance of subordinate branch heads and approves or disapproves leave.
- →Provides input on selection of branch heads, and hears and resolves employee grievances and complaints.
