About the Role

In this position, you will receive, unload, and process incoming shipments of equipment and supplies stored at FEMA Distribution Centers in support of federal disaster operations. This position is located in the Logistics Directorate, Distribution Division in the Office of Response and Recovery.

What You'll Do

  • What will I do in this position if hired?
  • In this Materials Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator) position, you will operate a computer terminal and scan gun to record commodity data. as well as independently perform a full range of warehouse duties.
  • Typical assignments include: Driving trucks up to 26,000 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Driving trucks up to 32,000 lbs.
  • (tractor-trailer) on a limited basis.
  • Performing a full range of warehouse duties, and receives, unloads, stores, ships, and maintains equipment and supplies.
  • Assisting in the efficient storage and arrangement of materials, following Agency procedures and regulations.
  • Operating a fork-lift to move material and equipment.
  • Operating a computer terminal to record data.
  • Verifying the quantity and quality of items received.
  • Receiving, unloading, storing, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

  • This position is located in 5 different locations with 1 position each in Aiea, HI, Bayamon, PR, Greencastle, PA and 2 positions in Fort Worth, TX.
  • Salaries are as follows: Aiea, HI-$ 28.72 PH -$ 33.50 PH Bayamon, PR-$ 21.47 PH-$ 25.02 Fort Worth, TX-$24.88 PH- $29.01 PH Greencastle, PA -$ 26.74 PH to 31.19 PH At FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and every employee at FEMA has a role in emergency management.
