About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Materials Handler (Fork Lift Operator) Leader over a team of Local National and US Citizen employees. *** LOCAL COMMUTING AREA PREFERED; NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PCS, NOT ELIGIBLE FOR LIVING QUARTERS ALLOWANCE.
What You'll Do
- →Passes on instructions received from supervisor to other employees, and starts work (e.g., by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led).
- →Checks work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
- →Performs a wide range of technical duties supporting the receiving, storing, selecting and shipping of stocked merchandise.
- →Retrieves data of incoming product from automated system and utilizes said data to ensure accuracy of incoming container information/deliveries.
- →Performs the full range of material handling duties to include but not limited to; loading, unloading, picking, packing and shipping of various perishable and semi-perishable products.
- →Provide recommendations for additional manpower and/or shift personnel when necessary to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
- →Recommend and participate with the supervisor in the planning of current and future work schedules and staffing needs.
- →Performs housekeeping duties as required, identifies and resolves any safety hazards and ensures that lower graded workers are maintain and safe and secure work practices.
- →Answers workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (e.g., technical orders).
