You will serve as a Manager in the Chemical, Biological, Radiological Defense Deputy Department (WB), Warfighter Defense & Systems Integration Department (W) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide direction and oversight to select divisions within the Warfighter Defense and Systems Integration Department, specifically the Chemical Biological Radiological Defense (CBRD) Division (W1).
- →You will oversee direction, business rules, development, operations, and planning for Navy CBR Defense Systems Acquisition, Engineering, Integration, Installation, and Fleet Readiness supporting shipboard and expeditionary stakeholders.
- →You will oversee and execute work in support of the directed operational goals of the Warfighter Defense and Systems Integration Department.
- →You will serve as the subject matter expert and primary technical consultant to the Warfighter Defense and Systems Integration Department Head regarding the domain of CBR Defense.
- →You will be responsible for providing input on internal execution strategies and aligning local operations with higher-echelon directives.
- →You will develop metrics and controls to properly allocate resources to manage and align operations.
- →You will de-conflict issues regarding scheduling and utilization of deputy department facilities, material, and resources.
- →You will ensure adherence to technical mission while serving the public interest.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess For the 0401 series: Successful completion of a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related discipline appropriate to this position.
- ✓OR Successful completion of a combination of education and experience in one of the above majors that includes at least 24 semester hours in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a discipline related to this position plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓The quality of the combination of education and experience demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the work of the position and is comparable to that normally acquired through the completion of a full four-year course of study with a major as described above.
- ✓For the 0801 series: Successful completion of a bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Successful completion of a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
- ✓The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (I) Professional registration or licensure: Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓For the 1301 series: Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
- ✓OR Successful completion of a combination of education and experience with education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓For the 1320 series: Successful completion of a Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.
- ✓OR Successful completion of a combination of education and experience -- course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓For the 1501 series: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science.
- ✓OR Successful completion of a combination of experience and education achieved from courses equivalent to a major field of study in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
