This position serves as a Management and Program Analyst at Channel Islands National Park. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of management and program analysis which stem from senior managers addressing park or program level priorities.
What You'll Do
- →The major duties of the Management and Program Analyst position include, but are not limited to: Serves as a member of the Park Management Team.
- →As a member of this team, the incumbent is actively involved in decisions affecting overall park management strategic direction, policy, priorities, budget and operations.
- →Contributes to the development and implementation of park plans and management documents.
- →Serves as the park's principal advisor for cultural resources stewardship involving fundamental park resources identified in enabling legislation.
- →Performs quantitative or qualitative analysis to determine the effectiveness of programs in meeting established goals and objectives.
- →Prepares detailed action plans and schedules for long- and short-range project accomplishment and ensures that project plans are consistent with management goals and objectives.
- →Advises management on a variety of opportunities and options to increase overall programmatic effectiveness.
- →You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- →Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1 year-probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
- ✓This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service.
- ✓In determining if your employment advances the public interest, the agency will consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service.
- ✓Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized.
- ✓In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated.
- ✓Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
- ✓There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 grade level of this announcement.
