About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, located in the following locations: Ashburn, VA Boston, MA Buffalo, NY Detroit, MI Irving, TX Miami, FL New York, NY San Francisco, CA Washington, DC

What You'll Do

  • This is a Recent Graduate appointment in the Pathways Program.
  • Selected individuals are placed in a dynamic one year development program in the excepted service designed to lead to a competitive civil service career in the Federal government.
  • At the successful conclusion of this program, the agency may non-competitively convert individuals to a term (position lasting 1-4 years with an extension up to 120 days) or permanent position within the competitive service.
  • Conversion to a Federal competitive service position will be at the discretion of the agency and is neither guaranteed nor implied.
  • As a Management and Program Analyst you will serve as a key analyst and advisor responsible for assisting in directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing department-wide mission and administrative programs.
  • This position starts at a salary of $57,736.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $91,815.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $133,142(GS-12 Step 10).

  • Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Providing administrative assistance for program management activities to help maintain daily operations of OT programs.
  • Supporting project leaders and works with staff across the organization and with external partners to facilitate collaboration and program delivery.
  • Applying qualitative and quantitative methods to assess progress toward program goals and objectives.
  • Analyzing data to identify trends, evaluate performance metrics, and forecast potential outcome.
