The Northeast District (NED) Office is in St. Louis, MO and is responsible for providing effective, efficient, economical direction, control and operation of the VBA's program of benefits and services for Veterans and their dependents at the Regional Offices within the District's geographical area of jurisdiction. As a Management Analyst, you will perform a variety of analytical, planning, evaluative and advisory work.
What You'll Do
- →The primary purpose of this position is to provide NED office management with expert, objectively based information for making decisions on program operations.
- →The Management Analyst is responsible for the following duties but are not limited to: Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating reports and statistics to advise on trends, out-of-line situations, and anticipated needs.
- →Conducting management audits, surveys, and systematic reviews of operations to ensure that established policies, practices and procedures are effectively implemented.
- →Assembling workload data, work measurement data and work program data including the development of budget estimates, resource allocations and other District needs.
- →Providing written reports of all findings including recommendations, as required by District Management or as otherwise directed.
- →Reviewing documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.
- →Preparing graphs, charts, and other audio-visual displays depicting program information and statistics for use in training, management briefings, and information dissemination activities both within and outside of the ROs.
- →The duties described above are the full performance GS-13.
- →If selected at the lower grade, GS-12 the incumbent will serve in a developmental assignment which is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience to perform the full range of routine and non-routine assignments with a high level of independence.
- →Works under closer than normal supervision and with more specific guidance.
- →Assignments become progressively more difficult until the full-performance level is reached.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Central Standard Time Compressed/Flexible: Not Available Telework: No Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
