About the Role

The position serves as a Management Analyst in the Office of the Director. Develops recommendations for program officials and supervisors and strives to have viable recommendations accepted by operating components. Recommendations include development of new or modified work methods, procedural changes, systems variations, and acceptance of new technology developments.

What You'll Do

  • Conducts comprehensive Manpower Utilization Surveys.
  • Ingenuity, original thinking, inventiveness, and independent judgment are required to arrive at clear-cut determinations as to whether manpower, material, and funds are being used to the optimum.
  • These surveys require the application of special skills involving auditing, reviewing, and analyzing and interpreting controlling laws, regulations, and procedures, as implemented by various manuals and publications.
  • Develops and composes Regional Office publications governing station management policies and procedures as assigned.
  • Participates in the planning of Regional Office space acquisition and alterations.
  • Assists management in developing budget estimates by referring to prior year data, compiling information and completing the various documents for the station budget plan.
  • Prepares fund distribution and informs management officials of these allocations.
  • Observes fund usage and makes revisions as needs, priorities, etc., occur.
  • Consults with the Director/ Assistant Director on these matters.
  • Responds to inquiries from Congressional, Central Office, other Federal Agencies and news media personnel regarding current VA benefits and application procedures.
  • Monitors, interprets and analyzes data available through VBMS, EPR, WATRS, Tableau, WIT, and other systems to validate correct reporting, analyze trends and to suggest improvements in managerial and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepares and interprets the statistical data for Quarterly Management briefings, site visits, Trip Packs, and other reports.
  • Coordinates the reports control system to ensure completed, accurate and timely submission of all reports.
  • Provides support to divisional management on significant issues that include, but are not limited to; policies, Division goals and objectives, internal controls, and the preparation of priority reports to the Director, VA Central Office, and Office of Field Operations.
