About the Role
As a member of the Area Maintenance Unit, the Maintenance Worker is responsible to perform a wide range of duties in maintenance and repair at the Atlanta VAMC. Under the general supervision of the Area Management Unit (AMU) Supervisor, employee performs duties incidental to maintenance and repair of all buildings, utilities and facilities as a representative of the Area Management Unit.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Performing a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures and utilities.
- →Laying floor tile and installing ceiling tile Plastering and carpentry work Painting Minor plumbing Installing door closures, door stops, safety treads on steps, etc.
- →Repairing chairs and other equipment Mounting paper towel holders, signs, corner guards, etc.
- →Hanging bulletin boards, pictures, mirrors, fans, clocks, etc.
- →Installing casters on desks, chairs, food carts, etc.
- →Installing storage cabinets, x-ray view boxes, etc.
- →Performing walk-through inspections of buildings and initiates corrective action as needed Diagnosing issues and either fix them or recommend solutions Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.
- →Work Schedule is subject to change based on agency needs.
