About the Role
This announcement is fora Maintenance Worker, WG- 4749-7, to clear ICTAP/CTAP priority lists. It is only open to current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the ICTAP/CTAP. What You'll Do
- →As a Maintenance Worker (Seasonal) your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs work using common hand tools and simple power equipment such as hatchets, ladders, screwdrivers, axes, picks, tampers, hand saws, clippers, buffers, grinders, power saws, weed trimmers, low-pressure sprayers, powered push lawn mowers, chain saws, etc.
- →Perform equipment and building routine preventative and corrective maintenance.
- →Operates motor vehicles including: tractor trailers, truck and trailer combination, platform trucks, passenger buses, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, and dump trucks which typically have an approximate gross to 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) but as well more than 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) and up to 14,400 kilograms (32,000 pounds), but not to include special permit hauling.
- →Work includes developing a course of action to manage and complete facility and land management operations and earth moving projects to prevent injury to others and damage to the equipment.
- →Keeps written maintenance records for all equipment operated.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Area of Consideration for this position refers to the ICTAP/CTAP hiring authority/eligibility and not the physical location of the position.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement.
- ✓Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓Uniform Required: The position is required to wear the Service Uniform in accordance with Service Uniform Policy 041 FW 4 Requirements to help achieve our mission.
- ✓Employees required to wear the uniform receive a uniform allowance.
- ✓For positions that require a uniform to be worn Employees and Supervisors need to complete the Uniform Policy: Condition of Employment Statement Form found in the Policy.
- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work.
- ✓You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
- ✓You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.
- ✓There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
