About the Role
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is October-December,but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: Dependent upon location. Open to the first 200 applicants or until 07/17/2026 whichever comes first. What You'll Do
- →These positions perform recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers.
- →You will perform a minimum of two of the following trades: Carpentry Painting Plumbing Roofing Electrical Cement Finishing Masonry Wastewater Plant Operator Water Plant Operator You will receive work orally or through work orders.
- →The instructions are of a general nature, supplemented by your knowledge and understanding of the trade.
- →You are responsible for detailed layout, selection of tools and materials and for accuracy, completeness and adherence to standards.
- →Assigned tasks are performed independently, with no technical assistance.
- →Finished work is checked for adequacy by supervisor.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
- ✓You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.
- ✓Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓Please indicate in your application whether you possess a valid State driver's license.
- ✓You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- ✓You may be required to travel overnight away from home.
- ✓You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
- ✓Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
- ✓Depending on location, government housing may be available.
- ✓There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
