You will serve as a Maintenance Worker . The primary purpose of the position is to perform recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers.
What You'll Do
- →Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Perform minor plumbing, mechanical, and electrical installations and repairs.
- →Assist journeyman Electrician and HVAC technicians with park electrical, mechanical system maintenance.
- →Perform minor repairs and maintenance to buildings (carpentry, painting, masonry).
- →Operate small equipment (forklift, boom lift, tractor, snowplow).
- →Perform minor repairs or routine maintenance to small equipment and light duty vehicles.
- →Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected.
- →First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
- →Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as permanent appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis.
- →You will work for approximately 11 months, and you will be in a non-pay status for at least one pay period between late December and early January.

- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.

- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- ✓You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required and must be maintained.
- ✓You must submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record at your own expense.
- ✓As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
- ✓This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service.
