You will serve as a Maintenance Worker - Field Unit Local Hire Authority (FUL) for Yellowstone National Park Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as permanent appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will be placed in a pay status and can expect to work a minimum of 24 pay periods not to exceed a maximum of 25 pay periods, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
What You'll Do
- →Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: This position provides routine maintenance on park facilities including, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical work.
- →Assist higher grade maintenance employees in the performance of maintenance tasks.
- →Safely and effectively, use hand power tools required for the job and has the ability to maintain these tools properly.
- →Performs routine maintenance on campground sites and trails using hand tools to re-grade and reset barriers to restore areas to original appearances.
- →Collects trash.
- →Operates a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites while assisting on project work.
- →Cleans and services chemical toilets, restrooms, and other campground or visitor facilities.
Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- ✓Direct Deposit participation required.

- ✓Driver's License: Must have and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.

- ✓Housing: Government housing is NOT available.
- ✓Schedule: You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- ✓As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1 year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
