The incumbent is responsible for general maintenance and repair requirements as established by the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, Supervisory Healthcare Engineer, Deputy Chief or Chief of Facilities Management Service for the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties included but not limited to: Maintaining, repairing, altering, and constructing exterior and interior surfaces and structures built of a variety of brick, block, and stone.
- →Constructing window sills, lintels, and arches capable of supporting walls above the openings.
- →Cutting, shaping and finishing stone Operating equipment such as skid steer, boom lift, backhoe and tractor required for earthwork.
- →Replacing and install new concrete sidewalks Makes repairs on high grade wooden items such as cabinetry furniture and decorative wood for interior finishes for offices, conference room, medical rooms and so forth.
- →Measures, cuts and constructs using standard building materials.
- →Independently plans and completes projects that involve constructing, altering, repairing, and/or modifying framework, rafters, trusses, doors, finished paneling, windows, rough furniture, interior/exterior trim, staircases, and beams.
