You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC in the Production Resources Department (Code 900), Production Resources Manager (Code 901), Service Shop (Code 990) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will perform a variety of tasks involved in the servicing and upkeep of vessels, and maintenance of radiologically controlled buildings.
- →You will perform tasks in at least two or more of the following trades; electrical, air-conditioning, pluming, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, and insulation.
- →You will prepare, pack, and transfer radiological material.
- →You will produce requested carpentry and woodworking products to support shipyard maintenance work.
- →You will plan and lay out the installation, modification, and repair of various new and existing piping systems and equipment.
- →You will operate and maintain HVAC systems and ductwork/vent inside radiological controlled areas.
- →You will remove and replace electrical fixtures and controls; making repairs; rearranging old or installing new outlets, relays, switches, light fixtures, and testing circuits.
