About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel in the Federal Competitive Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As Maintenance Mechanic you will complete preventive maintenance and repairs to buildings and facilities at Fort Myer, VA and Fort McNair, Washington, D.C.
What You'll Do
- →Position requires knowledge of the following trade skills such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, refrigeration and air conditioning, trades to perform preventive maintenance and repairs of buildings and facilities.
- →Responds to maintenance repair service calls regarding malfunctioning /inoperable domestic equipment such as: HVAC, kitchen/domestic, plumbing, utility, supply and disposal systems.
- →Plans and lays out work for estimates for materials and equipment for maintenance repairs.
- →Operates a van-type truck (up to one ton) to transport tools, materials, equipment and self to work site.
- →This is a journeyman level position; works alone or with assistance with a lower graded worker.
- →CFC requires (40 CFR 82) certification for HVAC refrigeration and utility equipment maintenance and repairs of units.
