About the Role
This position is located in Office of the Secretary, in Boise, Idaho. To be eligible for this position, you must be within the local commuting area (reside within 50 miles of Boise, Idaho). This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties of this position include: Plan, lead, and supervise the daily operational maintenance of custodial duties and buildings and utilities.
- →Ensures necessary plans, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools are available when needed for project including, but not limited to carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
- →Checks work in orders and upon completion to determine/ensure Facility Operations Supervisor's instructions are being followed to meet deadlines.
- →Reports progress and delay to ensure Facility Operations Supervisor is aware on overall operations and problems.
- →Serves at Contracting Officer's Representative in construction, action and contracted maintenance project.
- →Operates passenger vehicles, pick-up trucks, stake bed trucks, dump trucks, snowplow, forklift, backhoe, bucket trucks and tows various trailers Salary Clarification: WS 10 step 1: $42.77 per hour WS 10 step 2: $44.55 per hour WS 10 step 3: $46.34 per hour WS 10 step 4: $48.12 per hour WS 10 step 5: $49.90 per hour First time hires to the Federal Government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓You will be required to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result prior to appointment.
- ✓In addition, this position is subject to random testing for illegal drug use.
- ✓You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
- ✓You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record.
- ✓You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
- ✓You may be required to work overtime.
- ✓You must live within the local commuting area (within 50 miles of Boise, Idaho).
- ✓Accepted documents for verifying proof of residence include mortgage or deed (name and address included), lease/rental agreement (current and signed) or utility bill or service statement (recent, typically within 30-90 days with name and address).
- ✓This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.
- ✓There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
