About the Role
Serves as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor in the Engineering Department of the Hale Koa Hotel. The first cut-off date will be on 24 August 2026. Additional lists will be pulled after this first cut-off date at the request of the hiring manager. Local candidates will be reviewed first as PCS is not authorized. If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as supervisor of a work crew of maintenance staff and leaders primarily responsible for the maintenance, repair, upkeep and installation of equipment and facilities.
- →Incumbent checks work in progress and when finished for compliance with instructions, procedures, and deadlines.
- →Orders equipment and supplies.
- →Inputs and reports time and attendance reports.
- →Supervises staff to ensure expected results are obtained in performance and quality control.
- →Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of related work operations or functions.
- →Possess strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
- →Provides professional development and training of staff and proper recognition and reward.
- →Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors and sets deadlines.
- →Maintains balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers and other resources.
- →Participates with management officials and/or other personnel to develop qualitative and/or quantitative work standards.
- →Evaluates work operations and reviews completed work and performs inspections.
- →Coordinates work operations with other departments.
- →Manages engineering operations in absence of the Chief and Assistant Chief Engineer.
