About the Role
This position is located in Carlsbad Caverns National Park. This is a Career/Career-Conditional Full-time appointment.
What You'll Do
- →At the full performance level (WS-09) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1.
- →Provide technical and administrative supervision over subordinates performing various trades and labor occupations such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Heavy Equipment Operating, Utility Maintenance, Masonry, Welding, Historical Preservation, and/or Painting. 2.
- →Provide professional and technical support and knowledge on utilities, trades, and crafts such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Heavy Equipment Operating, Utility Maintenance, Masonry, Welding, Historical Preservation, and/or Painting, drainage, storm and sanitary sewer systems, trails, grounds keeping and janitorial services. 3.
- →FMSS); preparing reports on workload and employee data; etc. 4.
- →May serve as Project Supervisor, Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and/or Agreements Technical Representative (ATR) on facility related projects.
- →Ensures operational compliance with NPS guidelines, state and federal regulations concerning hazardous wastes, material handling and storage, building codes etc. 5.
- →Coordinate frequent changes in variety and volume in the workload and meet deadlines in completing work assignments.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓You will be required to submit to a drug screening upon completion of their Class B CDL and maintain this throughout their employment.
- ✓If someone already holds a Class B CDL, a drug screening will be required at the time of hire.
- ✓This position requires the incumbent to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of their official duties.
- ✓Selectee must hold and maintain a valid state driver's license throughout their employment in this position.
- ✓You must possess and maintain a current Class B, (or higher) Commercial Driver's License within 1 year of hire.
- ✓You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- ✓You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month.
- ✓You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
- ✓Government Charge Card: You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
