About the Role
The position is located in the Building Maintenance and Environment of Care Unit (BM & EOC Unit) composed of Journeyman Level Maintenance Mechanics. Experience needed as a Journeyman Level Maintenance Mechanic or Carpenter with construction and /or maintenance background. Previous experience as a Work Leader required.
What You'll Do
- →Work with direct supervision of the Building Maintenance and EOC Supervisor.
- →Position is responsible for routine tasks which include checking inventory of shop supplies and materials to ensure that proper amounts are on hand at all times.
- →In addition to the performance and supervision of journeyman-level work, responsibilities include coordinating all manpower and materials necessary for fabrication, installation, modification, troubleshooting, testing, repair, maintenance and inspection of assigned equipment and buildings throughout the Medical Center.
- →Worker may assume supervisory responsibilities.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Inform supervisors on overall work operations; assign work orders.
- →Advise workers on instructions received from supervisors, and how to meet deadlines.
- →Order needed equipment, parts, and supplies to complete repairs; assigning work orders.
- →Conduct inspection of equipment, equipment rooms, work areas and penthouses for proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
- →Check work for compliance with instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines.
- →Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available.
- →Maintain a current knowledge, and answering questions on procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives.
- →Provide reports to supervisors on status and progress of work, and causes of work delays.
- →Construct and repair a wide variety of structural items.
- →Keep supervisor informed at all times as to the status of assigned work orders.
