This vacancy is for a WG - 4749-5,Maintenance Mechanic Helper located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG ACADEMY PUBLIC WORKS SECTION in NEW LONDON, Connecticut.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Helper and be responsible for assisting the WG-10 Maintenance Mechanics by performing the simpler and more routine duties of the trade and working with the journeyman as instructed.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Assisting a higher-graded employee in the installation, modification, and repair of utility systems and equipment, such as: dehumidifiers, fans, pumps, air conditioners, refrigeration units, and other equipment.
- →Assisting the Maintenance Mechanic in assembling and installing parts by getting tools and supplies, carrying materials, and lifting and holding materials in place during repair operations.
- →Cleaning tools, machines, and equipment and keeps the work area clean and orderly.
