What You'll Do
- →Serving as a Maintenance Mechanic WG-4749-10 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission.
- →This position is located in the Facilities Operations Branch, Facilities Management Division under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia.
- →The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Maintenance Mechanic responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and performing requisite installation and repair duties for the upkeep, operation, and utilization of the agency's specialized training facilities and support facilities.
- →The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the continual, safe, and proper operation of all building systems to include, but not limited to, computer-controlled firearms target systems, direct digital controlled (DDC) heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, fire alarm systems, chiller/boiler systems and auxiliary equipment, and other related trades.
- →Typical duties include: Ensuring that all building systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, safety devices, etc.) are operating properly.
- →Monitoring, evaluating, and adjusting equipment/controls located in site facilities, as necessary.
- →Assisting in the preparation and acceptance inspection of construction contracts, including the writing of necessary reports, specifications, and documents.
