This position is in Facility Management Service (FMS), Boise VA Medical Center, Boise, Idaho. The position has administrative accountability for three Maintenance Mechanic Supervisors in the Maintenance Construction and Operations (MC&O) segment of FMS. The incumbent is under the supervision of the Assistant Chief of FMS.
What You'll Do
- →The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Assist the Deputy Chief Engineer in long-range projects and programs and assigns the Maintenance, Construction, and Operations (MC&O) within Facility Management Service (FMS).
- →Oversees three Maintenance Mechanic Supervisors within MC&O segment of FMS and reports to the Deputy Chief Engineer.
- →Participates as technical advisor in significant management planning, policy, and decision making actions of the Medical Center that pertain to any facet of Facility Operations and in house construction projects.
- →Has knowledge of hospital operations, expertise in FMS segments, and proficiency in software like VISTA, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- →Responsibilities include organizing data, developing maintenance programs, and leading supervisors across three MC&O segments.
- →Promotes and administers a variety of management initiatives and programs for each segment of MC&O, FMS, such as safety, cost reduction, incentive awards, beneficial suggestions, and quality assurance within policies and procedures established by higher authority.
- →Coordinates leave schedules of subordinate supervisors, and reviews personnel actions and employee performance appraisals initiated by subordinate supervisors.
- →Organizes data, develops maintenance programs, and leads supervisors across three MC&O segments.
- →Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to the subordinate supervisor of the three segments of MC&O within FMS.
- →In charge of significant decision-making authority, responsibility, and accountability on issues affecting all of FMS facility operations activities.
