About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.
What You'll Do
- →Performs setup processes and operate all CNC, manual and precision measurement equipment on raw stock to include various metal alloys, castings, forgings, weldments, and other fabrications.
- →Operates tools such as lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mills, bench, plain or universal milling machines, slotters, broaching machines, grinders and radial drills.
- →Reads and interprets blueprint drawings; performs quality checks.
- →Performs precision handiwork to finish, fit and assembles machined parts.
