About the Role
This position is located at the CW Bill Young VAMC in Bay Pines, Florida. Engineering Services. The position is under the immediate supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor of the Carpentry Shop who coordinates the workload. You are responsible for the overall physical security and locking systems installed at the Bay Pines VAMC and local CBOC campuses. The primary purpose of this position is the installation and maintenance of various mechanical and electronic security hardware.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for maintenance and repair of the total lock system at Bay Pines and local CBOC Medical Centers.
- →Maintain master key records and generate master key systems for each type of locking encountered.
- →Service and change combinations on safes and vaults.
- →Maintain security and locks for narcotic storage and medication storage.
- →Install and maintain window and door lock mechanisms.
- →Repair locks on an emergency basis in as much as all locks must be in good repair in a medical center.
- →Must pick or otherwise defeat or bypass locks when keys are lost or lock is inoperable.
- →Use of small hand tools such as files, tweezers, tension wrenches, as well as the adjustment and use of powered tools common to the trade such as duplicating and coding machines, grinders and stamping machines.
