This position is eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but not limited to: GS-09 duties Engages in intake and assessment, problem identification, diagnosis (with supervisory co-signature), treatment planning and implementation, continuum of care, evaluation, and follow-up.
- →Applies knowledge of the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders in the formulation of treatment goals and the application of appropriate clinical interventions consistent with professional counseling practice.
- →Provides evidence-based individual, group, and/or family counseling interventions, demonstrating sensitivity to diversity and applying multicultural counseling skills.
- →Applies basic knowledge of human development principles through cognitive, affective, behavioral, or systemic interventions and strategies that address high-risk behaviors, wellness, personal growth, and career development across the life span.
- →Provides psychoeducation to patients, family members, significant others, and community members under supervisory guidance.
- →Provides consultation to professional staff within the Columbia VA Health Care System and/or CBOCs concerning clinical assessment findings and treatment planning, under the direction of the supervising LPMHC.
- →Maintains accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation in the electronic health record; all notes require supervisory co-signature as applicable.
- →Utilizes computer software applications for drafting documents, data management, clinical documentation, and delivery of services (e.g., Telehealth), and learns and applies VHA software programs as required.
- →Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with patients and staff from varied backgrounds.
- →GS-11 duties Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services.
- →Provides/ Assists with diagnoses of mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients to include a full range of psycho-diagnostic services.
- →Provides education to patients, family members, significant others, and community members.
- →Provides consultation to professional staff within the WJB Dom VAMC or CBOC and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients.
- →Functions as a member of the Outpatient Mental Health Team.
