About the Role
The Licensed Practical Nurse - Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) carries out the most complex practical nursing care assignments, which include performing nonstandard and specialized activities sufficient to solve a range of complex nursing problems, under the general review of a Registered Nurse in the outpatient clinic. The LPN uses a systematic problem-solving process in the care of multiple patients with predictable healthcare needs to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.

- →VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but not limited to the following: Demonstrate knowledge of practical nursing care exercising sound judgement in planning and intervention, requiring supervision to provide a practical knowledge of human body structure, sterile techniques and procedures.
- →Care for Veterans in accordance with established nursing procedures, standards of care, and plan of care.
- →Demonstrate technical competence to prepare, administer, and appropriately document Veterans education of medications, and nursing actions taken for commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous medications as permitted by approved local facility policies and procedures.
- →Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to recognize the need for and to institute emergency measures when indicated.
- →Demonstrate technical competence in setting up for Cervical Cancer Screening when assigned to a Women's Health PACT.
- →Acts as a chaperone during women's preventative care screenings.
- →Manage clinic workflow ensuring intakes are conducted in a timely manner and providing direction to patients as they await their appointments.
- →Schedule appointments for Veterans in collaboration with team members.
- →Perform and participate in Telehealth activities which may include VA Video Connect (VVC) Store and Forward, Clinical Video Teleheatlh and/or Home Telehealth Modalities seeking guidance and assistance when appropriate.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
