About the Role
The Lead Telehealth Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) GS-7 functions as a member of the health care team by demonstrating an exceptional degree of practical nursing knowledge and skills necessary for self-direction in carrying out complex practical nursing care assignments within the CBOC's and Medical Center for a Veteran population with a variety of health care needs. This is a LPN Lead Telehealth position located in the Martinsburg VAMC.
What You'll Do
- →The Lead Telehealth LPN supports all Telehealth programs by providing a variety of virtual care-related direct care services to patients in the CBOC's and the Medical Center while also serving as a resource for Telehealth Clinical Technicians and Telehealth LPN's.
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Make observations and thoroughly documents care and the patient's response to treatment.
- →Appropriately seeks assistance and guidance by informing Telehealth providers of changes in the patient's condition requiring higher-level assessment and/or intervention.
- →Assists with minor podiatry procedures, including obtaining and arranging necessary equipment, positioning patient, and ensuring comfort and privacy.
- →Maintains mandatory national and local Telehealth/nursing competencies as assigned.
- →Assists the podiatrist with Tele-podiatry CVT visits to include assisting with the physical examination of the feet/lower extremities.
- →Collaborates with Telehealth providers/interdisciplinary services in the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- →Exercises independent technical judgement and possesses a comprehensive working knowledge of the principles and science of practical nursing.
- →Follows up on abnormal results with the provider and educating patients/families on disease management and anticipated plan of care.
- →Serves as a resource person for frequently used Tele health equipment in the clinic setting and utilizes appropriate protocol for equipment repair and maintenance.
