About the Role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the general supervision of an RN or MD/DO. Individuals at this grade level are expected to have a broad working knowledge of practical nursing procedures.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) functions as a member of the team as assigned.
- →Performs most complex practical nursing care assignments with precision and efficiency consistent with Nursing Service policy and procedure and within the legal and ethical responsibilities of the LPN.
- →Demonstrates self-direction and flexibility in fulfilling the requirements of a complex assignment.
- →Observes for and reports physiological and/or psychological deviations in the acutely or chronically ill patients.
- →Recognizes and responds appropriately to potentially life-threatening situations as they develop.
- →Modifies the plan of care and notifies the appropriate authorities.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Performs most complex practical nursing care assignments with precision and efficiency consistent with Nursing Service policy and procedure and within the legal and ethical responsibilities of the LPN.
- →Demonstrates self-direction and flexibility in fulfilling the requirements of a complex assignment.
- →Observes for and reports physiological and/or psychological deviations in the acutely or chronically ill patients.

- →Demonstrates basic knowledge in nursing care procedures and basic care of the acutely ill and chronic patients in all areas of the VHSO's health system to include, Mental Health, Primary Care, and Eye Clinic.
- →Charts pertinent data regarding the patient's condition such as progress of patient's condition, procedures performed, and medications given.
- →Interviews patients to obtain information and/or communicate data regarding the patient.
Requirements
