About the Role
Join the Minneapolis VA Health Care System at the Twin Ports VA Clinic as a Mental Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). In this vital outpatient role, you will support Veterans through direct mental health nursing care, clinical screening, telehealth coordination, medication administration, and collaborative communication within care team to promote safe, recovery-oriented care.
What You'll Do
- →VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include, but not limited to: Observe, document, and report changes in mental and physical condition, seeking RN or provider guidance when needed.
- →Perform assigned mental health nursing care including rooming patients, conducting vital signs, and completing clinical reminders.
- →Conduct clinical screenings such as STMS/BOMC, AIMS, and breathalyzer.
- →Assist with medication processing, refills, and administer prescribed medications safely, including injections.
- →Serve as site clinical coordinator for mental health telehealth services, preparing equipment, rooms, and patient orientation.
- →Schedule and manage VISTA telehealth appointments.
- →Support suicide prevention initiatives.
- →Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to facilitate positive outcomes and evidence based practices.
- →Provide ongoing patient and caregiver education, and assist with staff orientation and competency validation.
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
