What You'll Do
- →The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse is to perform assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran.
- →The LPN/LVN also performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, outstanding customer service, and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran.
- →The LPN has basic knowledge and skills necessary for a concentrated effort and is somewhat independent in carrying out standardized procedures of limited complexity.
- →The incumbent is responsible to deliver fundamental, knowledge-based care to assigned patients while developing technical competencies.
- →This position may entail other duties as assigned and travel duties as assigned and travel to the community level clinics a.
- →Participates in the interdisciplinary team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's treatment plan. b.
- →Interacts with patients in groups in accordance with the patient's treatment plan c.
- →Observes, identifies, and responds to the patients' needs for nursing, medication, and equipment assisted care and recognizes deviations from normal. d.
- →Uses practical knowledge of human behavior, motivations, and reactions to situations in working effectively with patients, family, and other staff members. e.
- →Demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- →Patient Care Activities, as appropriate to assignment, includes but is not limited to: 1.
- →Assists with data collection for outpatients and new admissions. 2.
- →Provides for the patient's privacy. 3.
- →Observes, reports, and documents signs and symptoms of patient's general condition.
