What You'll Do
- →If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the United States Attorney's Office, Southern District of Texas (SDTX) - Appellate Division.
- →At the full performance level, you will support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA) by providing a variety of legal assistance and office support services.
- →If selected, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed.
- →The duties and responsibilities for a GS-0986-Legal Assistant (Office Automation)-GS-06/07 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Using knowledge of a variety of legal regulations, precedents, and practices, examines, prepares and processes technical legal correspondence and documents which are characteristically voluminous and complex in format.
- →Contributes to reports summarizing the case status, including legal issues, factual issues, and case developments.
- →May perform general clerical/administrative functions e.g., ordering supplies and equipment, processing time and attendance records, and maintaining administrative files.
- →Conducts non-complex research of legislation, statutes, regulations and court cases.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
- →If selected for the position, you will be assigned to the Appellate Division.
