What You'll Do
- →As the primary Legal Assistant (Office Automation) in the area of Grand Jury, you will serve as the focal point in providing expert advice on legal support work and will perform the most difficult and complex support assignments for Assistant U.S.
- →Attorneys (AUSAs).
- →Duties include (but are not limited to): Assist in editing and compiling data for grand jury reports and supervises the secure reproduction and distribution of reports.
- →Guide other legal assistants in specific tasks and job techniques and shares work samples, reference materials and policy guidance.
- →Determine factual issues that may impact grand jury activities, the requirement to protect grand jury records and keep files secure from public disclosure.
- →Use comprehensive knowledge of specialized legal processes, regulations, techniques, and procedures.
- →Perform grand jury administrative and logistical support duties.
- →Make substantive processing determinations or initiate other actions based on the incumbent's analysis of the situation or circumstances of the proceedings.
- →Review incoming material and determines the need for correspondence and legal documents such as motions, orders, pleadings and subpoenas.
- →Act as a legal assistant subject matter expert and provides training, guidance and technical assistance to other legal support staff.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
