The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia is unique in the size and the scope of its work. It serves as both the local and the federal prosecutor for the nation's capital. On the local side, AUSAs assigned to the Superior Court Division prosecute cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicides. On the federal side, AUSAs assigned to the Criminal Division prosecute federal crimes. The Civil Division further defends the United States in civil suits brought in the District of Columbia.
What You'll Do
- →If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for working with the senior financial litigation specialist to research and evaluate debtor assets and the collection of criminal and/or civil monetary impositions in the Civil Division in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.
- →Typical work assignments will include: Identifies assets such as cash, property, bonds, mutual funds, cash value in insurance policies and variable annuities, stocks, travelers' checks, Series EE savings bonds and bearer municipal bonds.
- →Analyze the electronic files in the case system and evaluates information provided; drafts required legal documents; and makes recommendations based on factual and legal research.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements
- ✓All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
