This position is located in Care Navigation/Community Care service at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. The Lead Medical Support Assistant (MSA) is responsible for daily workload assessments, assigning work, and assuring proper staffing coverage; evaluating training records; and determining training needs of MSAs to provide support across interdisciplinary settings
What You'll Do
- →VA Careers - Medical Support Assistant: https://youtube.com/embed/EE9c4XkaELo Duties Include but are not limited to: Serves as a subject matter expert for community care processes, including scheduling.
- →Coordinates workflow processes of outpatient scheduling for all appointments for designated teams.
- →Makes changes to improve any work delays on an as-needed basis.
- →Monitors team members medical record retrieval attempts and documentation.
- →Ensures all patients are seen within time constraints established by the National Office of Community Care.
- →Collaborates with external Community Care stakeholders in addressing the needs of the Veteran patient, as required to resolve issues.
- →Ensures timely response to patients/caller that potentially have an emergent or urgent care need through prompt identification of problem and referral.
- →Participates in data collection, audits, and program documentation.
- →Keeps assigned team members informed and updated concerning appropriate administration regulations.
- →Formulates reports for integrated teams for process improvement regarding consult timeliness.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
- →Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade) Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
