About the Role
The incumbent serves as a Medical Support Assistant in Ambulatory Care and Processing section of Health Administration Services. S/He works at a two-divisional teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Kentucky (UK) Medical Center at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. Incumbent will work at the Franklin R. Sousley (Leestown Road division).
What You'll Do
- →Lead MSAs plan and direct programs at medical centers and/or satellite outpatient clinics and have full supervisory responsibility.
- →Assignments at this level include, but are not limited to: Assigning and evaluating the work of subordinate staff and resolving complex problems to ensure patient services are met Evaluating new products, equipment, and systems in order to make recommendations for improved operations Assuring coverage of all areas of responsibility.
- →Conducting ongoing reviews to ensure equality of work.
- →Ensuring accurate and timely scheduling of appointments.
- →Providing guidance to employees to include policy and procedural changes.
- →Distributing and balancing workload.
- →Mentoring new staff through orientation and on-the-job training for new and current employees.
- →Ensuring all training requirements are met.
- →Organizing the work structure of his/her assigned areas.

Requirements
