This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Office of Business Operations and Accountability (BOA), Human Capital Management Division (HCMD), Employee Services and Mission Support Training Unit (ESMSTU), with 1 vacancy in Kansas City, MO.
What You'll Do

- →As a Lead Master Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Serve as a technical authority or team leader to lead the Employee Services and Mission Support Training Unit (ESMSTU) to coordinate instruction with similar programs in other federal agencies to benchmark our offerings and capabilities.
- →In order to act as primary or assistant instructor on curricula, develop and maintain functional competencies in appropriate professional fields, systems, and applications related to the services provided by the National Weather Service (NWS), and systems and applications utilized in the assessment and communication of weather-related events.
- →Serve as a Lead Master Instructor, facilitator, and training program analyst responsible for developing and providing subject matter expertise in the development of training and resources to meet the needs of the organization.
- →Coordinate topics, instructors, and logistics for all residence courses under the scope of ESMSTU.
- →Will personally deliver training to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) employees of all personnel using best practices.
- →Visit NWS field offices to gain knowledge in and stay current on NWS field procedures and culture.
- →Serve as a team leader with a focus on multiple professional and technical performance support solutions to enable NWS employees to reach optimum performance in present assignments and future responsibilities.
- →Coordinate and integrate permanent and temporary instructors assigned to the division, based on the training needs of the target audience.
- →Plan, coordinate, and provide classroom instruction (including seminars, conferences, practical exercises, lectures, and other activities) for resident and mobile courses, and instruct and certify teaching team and seminar instructors.
- →Mentor and develop associated instructors, ensuring they use adult learning techniques based on the experiential learning model.
- →Ensure associated instructors follow established lesson plans and control student activities and behavior for effective learning conditions in an adult learning environment.
- →Research and evaluate the development of instructional materials to include simulations to integrate into technology instruction where applicable, and assist curriculum developers, block and lesson authors in enabling curricula.
