This position is in the Audiology Service at Packard Road VA Clinic in Ann Arbor, Ml. The duties and responsibilities are carried out in all clinical and other patient care areas involved with the Audiology Service. The Lead Health Technician supports the function of the clinical programs in Audiology. The incumbent is a Lead Health Technician (Audiology) under the supervision and direction of a licensed audiologist.
What You'll Do
- →Primary responsibility is for patient care, supporting diagnostic and treatment procedures, patient charting and patient education, including hearing conservation, which do not require a full professional audiology education or knowledge and skills represented by audiology licensure.
- →Support functions include both direct patient care and administrative duties.
- →In addition, the incumbent must be able to mentor and train new health technicians (Audiology).
- →The Lead Health Technician will perform the following duties approximately 30% of the time: Assist the supervisory audiologist and/or staff audiologists with technician oversight duties including making daily assignments, monitoring workflow, providing input on performance, resolving daily workplace issues, and maintaining efficient flow of patient care.
- →The Lead Health Technician (Audiology) may provide training to staff, students and/or trainees; and may provide input into special advancements, promotions, and disciplinary actions for Health Technicians (Audiology).
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm Telework: Not Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
