This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Lead Firefighter for DES. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. What You'll Do
- →Direct firefighting crew in the operation of firefighting vehicles and equipment.
- →Conduct demonstrations and lectures to instruct crew members concerning firefighting techniques, and fire protection and prevention methods.
- →Inspect and/or supervise inspections by crew members for fire hazards in all types of structures throughout the installation.
- →Respond to emergency EMS calls to ensure preliminary care is provided.
- →Make daily reports to supervisor pertaining to tour of duty.
