About the Role
The Lead Dental Assistant works with the Dental Service Chief to monitor and make work assignments, provide input on performance, resolve daily workplace issues, and maintain efficient flow of patient care.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to the following: Facilitates Dental Service's processes by working collaboratively with dental assistants and other staff to ensure that tasks are completed, that good working relationships among Dental Service members and with management are maintained, and that the Dental Service's priorities, goals, needs, and achievements are coordinated with management.
- →Serves in staff dental assistant position independently performing more complex work in assigned specialties in lead dental assistant positions.
- →Assists the dentist in many aspects of direct patient care and performs other clinical and clerical functions independent of direct supervision.
- →Accurately orients and expose digital radiographs, including cone beam, with excellent diagnostic quality while ensuring dental imaging safety techniques are utilized; retakes are minimal, and imaging requests are accomplished within the desired time frame; and maintains digital image security.
- →Incumbent demonstrates proper infection control procedures Pours impressions and prepares study models Remove sutures; take impressions for diagnostic casts, and preliminary impressions for prosthetic appliances Work Schedule: 7:15am to 3:45pm Monday-Friday Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
