The is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Central Virginia VA Healthcare System (CVHCS), Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FXHCC) in the Environmental Management Service (EMS) in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
What You'll Do
- →Duties included but not limited to the following: Receiving, delivering, and putting away textiles.
- →Stocking toilet paper, paper towels, soap dispensers.
- →Monitoring phone, checking voicemail, and E-mail.
- →Count worn, torn and wasted linen.
- →Completing shipping and receiving log.
- →Sorts various groups of garments and linens into bins by matching identification symbols.
- →Maintain accountability and security of linen.
- →Checks numbers of items against those indicated on ticket.
- →Sweeping and mopping.
- →Cleaning and ensuring the linen storage room and dock are clean/orderly.
- →Removing trash, replacing liner, and transporting trash to the centralized trash room.
- →Work Schedule:1430 - 2300 Position Description Title/PD#: Laundry Worker/PD015770 Physical Requirements: Physical Effort Stands or walks continuously on concrete floors.
- →Needs a certain amount of quickness in hand and arms movements to meet production standards.
- →Most of the jobs require frequent lifting of bundles weighing up to 25 lbs.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
