About the Role
The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the medical center's laundry services within Environmental Management Services. The position reports directly to the Laundry Plant Manager and provides both technical and administrative supervision to subordinate employees.
What You'll Do
- →The Laundry Worker Supervisor plans, assigns, directs, and evaluates the work of Laundry Workers engaged in the collection, processing, distribution, and inventory of linen and textiles supporting patient care and medical center operations.
- →The position may be assigned to any tour of duty and may be required to work in various designated areas throughout the medical facility.
- →The Laundry Worker Supervisor ensures compliance with safety, infection prevention, and quality standards while maintaining efficient laundry operations and providing guidance, training, and oversight to staff.
- →The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Lead and instruct employees on the proper use and care of equipment and linen handling methods.
- →Ensure employees are knowledgeable of and comply with safety rules.
- →Ensure employees receive required safety training and that safety program requirements are met.
- →Make routine decisions and answer employees' questions regarding procedures and machine operation.
- →Inspect laundry equipment and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation, making minor repairs and adjustments as needed.
- →Plan and maintain the linen inventory system.
- →Submit necessary records and reports, request supplies, and prepare forms for turn-in of unserviceable linen clothing.
- →Ensure conveyor belts are intact, properly adjusted, and clipper lacing is intact.
- →Ensure the pressure is adjusted correctly on the rolls of the flatwork ironer.
